Accessible Apartment

Tasked with creating an ADA compliant apartment in a 55+ apartment building, I created a unique and accessible housing unit. Keeping accessibility in mind, I created a set of criteria that I had to follow while designing: 

-Ease of mobility; should not take excess mobility to perform daily tasks

-Limited strength required; should not take excess strength to perform daily tasks

-Limited stamina required; should not take excess stamina to perform daily tasks

-Vanity should have wheelchair access

-Bathroom should have miltitude of grab bars

-All floors should be slip resistant

-Counter height should be lower than standard

-Upper shelving should be open and easy to reach

-Shower should be walk in, not step in
